Doctor Dark Knight

Jessica and I went to see Dark Knight last night. I have to say , it was a really good movie. Lots of action, a good story line, good effects......no Katie Holmes though. I don't mind that, since she really isn't a great actress, but the girl they got to replace her was like a poor man's version of Katie Holmes. Not really attractive. Anyway, I digress. Heath Ledger was a TERRIFFIC Joker. It's too bad it was his last roll. If the Joker is in any future Batman films, it will be some cheesey actor trying to act like Heath Ledger being the Joker. A few things that bugged me though:

-Batman had a lisp. I think that he had some kind of retainer or mouth piece that made his S's lisp. It really started to bug me. What criminal would be terrified of a Dark Knight with a lisp?

-They keep killing bad guys. This was something that bothered me in the older Batman films. How can you re-use villans when they are dead? I thought that Two Face was going to be the third Batman foe for the next movie. Nope. At least they didn't make the Michael Keaton's Batman error of killing the Joker. The Joker is probably the greatest of the foes.

I wonder who the next villian to go up against batman will be. I hope they keep the stories fresh and non-cheesey. There's the Riddler, the Penguin, Mr Freeze, and of course, Cat Woman. Will there be a Robin? A Bat Girl? If they keep the movies more realistic and less like a comic, I think this franchise will go far.

We also watched the season finale of Dr Who last night. I'm not too sure what I thought of it. I think I need to watch parts one and two again so that I can get the story all at once. I think I am a little miffed by it all. It seems like it was chaulk full of plot conveniences and things happening just because they needed to happen so the Doctor would live to fight again. I am glad they are keeping David Tennant on. I was concerned that a new Doctor might come along to ruin things, like after Tom Baker left the old school show.

I loved the Dark Knight. I can't imagine where they go from here.

I enjoyed the Doctor Who finale but I felt they crammed so much in there I couldn't really take it too seriously. Overall, a pretty good season and I wonder what direction the show will go now.

That's probably the problem. Too much crammed into one episode. I don't see why they had to have Sarah Jane, Martha, and the Torchwood group in the episode. It was a whole lot of build up for a rather disappointing ending. It's like they wanted to remind everyone that there are spin offs.
