Happy Almost Birthday Alydia!

We had a party for Alydia's second birthday yesterday. It wasn't all that exciting, just some family and friends. Alydia seemed to have fun though. She was happy with all the attention and pleased with her gifts. Her favorite was a little stroller for her babies. She's been pushing it around almost non stop. She also got some cute outfits and a few other toys. It seems harder to buy stuff for girls. Boys seem to have all sorts of cool toys to buy, but with girls it's just dolls and doll excessories. I think I may go buy her a 'boy' toy to expand her playing perameters.

No, no, no Eric. You got it all wrong. Boy toys are so hard to buy for. They are all black, red, and blue, dank dark colors. Boring. With girl toys you got pretty pastels and awesome dolls and even more awesome doll accessories. Oh don't for get the play kitchen stuff, and dress up clothes, and the ponies, and . . . . .

Emma loves her stroller. She takes her stuff animal or baby doll on a walk down the sidewalk. Alydia has really pretty hair. She has ten times the amount that Emma has. I love Emma's curls but she does not have all that much of it.

Doesn't it bother you that 'girl toys' are all geared towards taking care of kids, cooking, and cleaning? Such stereotypes are not for MY girl. Seriously though, she loves all that stuff.

Alydia looks adorable in that pic you have of her! CUTE!

I think it's easier to shop for girls, but I suppose I'm a little biased since I'm a girl. I agree with Amy....boy's toys (yeah, yeah) are boring. They don't do anything interesting and are so ugly! Again, that's the girl in me talking.

Hello,

You are talking to a women who is a stay at home mom and takes all the "female" roles on while husband is out earning a paycheck, mowing the grass, and taking down an old farm house. Well, if I did not have a little one to watch and was pregnant I would be helping take down the house. Oh did I mention I am barefoot?

I will support Emma on doing whatever she wants. She will go to school after high school. But, I really hope she becomes a stay at home mom. I hope if I have a son he will look for a women who want to be a stay at home mom. I am old fashion. I wanted to be a vet. (The upper level of chem. kicked my butt.) But, I always knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom. So I love stereotype toys. But, Emma can play with any boy toys she wants. Oh I even will let her play with guns.

My sister won't let her son call his toy nail gun a gun. It is called a nailer in the house. I am not that much of a prude.

Whoa, whoa, WHOA, Amy! I wasn't trying to get you riled up! Though, it is a little fun to read your rants. :) I just don't get girl toys, I guess. You basically have dolls and cooking stuff. TONS of different dolls! Toys for boys (to avoid the term 'boy toys') are MUCH more interesting. Transformers, Star Wars, Cars, trains, action figures....they are GREAT! I, personally, still like to buy me some toys every once in a while. They have toy nail guns!!?? Where can I get one and does it really shoot nail? That would ROCK! I guess my whole point was that if I were to see one more doll in my house, I may go batty (I just took a weird route to that point). Exactly how many dolls does a two year old really need? And, by the way, you are talking to a man that stays home with his kids on my days off. Sure, I'm not pregnant, but I'm barefoot! I know that you will support Emma in whatever. Hugs?

That is the thing with blogs. It is hard to get tones across. This one I would not count as a rant. Now the stripper and some of the other ones yes those were rants. Ok back to toys for boys. Star wars is dumb. Ha you can't slug me over the computer. I will give you cars, trains, and toy tools as cool toys for boys I guess. But, that is about it.

A girl can't have too many dolls, dress up outfits, or accessory to go with all that.

I am not sure where my nephew got his "nailer". It is pretty cool and makes nosies. It does not shoot anything. That my sister would not allowed.

It will be interesting shopping for toys if I have a boy someday. 95% of the toys my nephew has is either non gender or girl toys. He has little toys for boys. I really don't know what I would get him. Nothing gory I think. I might have to someday ask you for suggestions. But, if you suggest anything that is since fiction that will go in one ear and out the other. What were you favorite toys as a lad?

If you have a boy my suggestion would be:

STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS!!!!!!!

What did I play with when I was little?:

STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS!!!!!!!!!!!! Star Wars dumb? Amy, I can't be your friend anymore.

And for the record, the tone of this blog is silly and joking. I know you weren't ranting. I was just teasing you. And just so you know, Gabriel had two dolls and plenty of stuffed animals.
